The Masse Bench Element explores materiality, mass and density. Crafted from carefully selected pine wood (Pinus sylvestris), it highlights the natural structure and expressive qualities of the material.

Using the traditional Shou Sugi Ban technique, the wood is burned and brushed to reveal distinctive grain patterns. The different cuts of wood create a subtle contrast between the horizontal lines of the seat and the circular grain patterns of the legs. A lightly pigmented linseed oil finish enhances the rich tones of black, brown and hints of blue.

The wooden structure is carefully crafted by Mathijs Huyghebaert, while the final finish is applied by hand in the studio.
